He's not dead, he's resting
Paludis 0.38.1 has been released:
Sorry that I put this as comment here, but I can’t create ticket now as my email is OOO at the moment.
There seams to be a regression from 0.38.0 to 0.38.1 as clean system without qt4 fails to install qt-core-4.5.2, but 0.38.0 installs that fine.
This seams to be the same problem as mentioned in this Gentoo Bug (259736).
Yours, Sami näätänen
PS. After downgrading paludis from 0.38.1 to 0.38.0 paludis can’t find it’s libraries as the libraries are not symlinked to those names that 0.38 tries to load (libpaludisXXXXX_0.38.so.38 to be more exact where XXXXX is either nothing or args, utils etc.).
That’s not related to the upgrade. That’s down to a recent change made to the Qt eclasses.
The downgrade not working is due to a bug in libtool. Unfortunately, upstream probably aren’t going to fix it, because doing so will break some obscure twenty year old unix platform that one person’s running on an old steam-powered machine.
